A new club has been set up at Glusburn Primary Club, where Double Knights take on Mighty Prawn and Master of Secrets battles against Sharp Knight.

Chess Mates is a new weekly chess club for Key Stage 2 children, run by parent volunteer Simon Goodison.

So far about ten children have signed up.

“They have created their own chess playing names, such as Double Knights and Mighty Prawn, and are looking for other schools to play against,” said a school spokesman.
