Schoolchildren are being invited to design hand waving flags to cheer on Tour de France riders as they pass through Craven.
Entry forms have been sent to all Craven primary schools, and the winning design will be printed on thousands of flags, to be distributed at all primary schools in the district and along the route.
The winning pupil will receive a Yorkshire Grand Depart 2014 T-shirt, while runners-up will receive other Tour de France prizes.
Craven Pool and Fitness Centre will display a public exhibition of the entries.
Organised by Craven District Council, the competition is sponsored by education recruitment specialist, Just Teachers Ltd.
The closing date for the competition is next Friday, May 23. The winner will be announced on June 3.
