The 34th Bolton Abbey Show was a great success with a great buzz around the hall during the afternoon.

The exhibits were of a very high standard and the tables were full of cakes, flowers, paintings, and crafts.

The Come and be Creative section, which was started last year, was even more popular.

Pupils from Boyle and Petyt and Montessori schools covered the hall walls with their artwork and prizes were presented by Anne Cowling, the wife of Bolton Abbey's new rector.

Winners were: Bolton Abbey Estate Cup (most points in adult classes) and best adult baking - Cathie Cromarty; Village Hall Cup (most points in children's classes) and best children's craft - Maya Baugh; best children’s baking and best children’s miscellaneous exhibit - Fergus Gray; Village Hall Flower Shield - Barbara Pickersgill; best adult exhibit - Christine Dale; Lady Hartington Cup (best exhibit from Boyle and Petyt School) - Poppy Newton; Bolton Abbey Show Cup for preserves - Tina Butler; Oakfield Cup (adult miscellaneous) - Jill Pennock; Photography Cup - Matthew Hey
