RETORICA - St Margaret Clitherow Threshfield 14 June
Violinists Harriet Mackenzie and Philippa Mo rank as two of the finest violinists to perform at Grassington Festival in recent times.
Their dynamic rapport was established from the outset and it made for a spirited rendition of Telemann and an excellent Mozart sonata.
The major work of the recital was' Spieland,' composed in 2003 by John McCabe. It aptly demonstrated the musicality of these young performers and gave the audience an insight into contemporary sounds. It was a thrilling performance.
Visually and musically this was a most satisfying concert and appreciated by all who had the good fortune to be there.
