EARBY and District Gardeners staged their 71st annual horticultural show at the New Road Community Centre.
Two new trophies were up for grabs , named after the late Peter Bullock and Eric Hoyland, who were both keen gardeners.
Trophy winners, judged by Skipton horticultural expert Rex Geldard, were: Association Challenge Bowl (highest points in vegetables and flowers) - Kath Foster; Bailey Cup (second highest points in vegetables and flowers) - Anthony Grant; Peter Bullock Shield (third highest points in vegetables and flowers) - David Perry; McDowell Cup (highest points in baking) - Joan Harling; Greenwood Cup (second highest in baking) - Joyce Myers: Dale Rose Bowl (highest points in floral art) and Sheila Dale Cup (best exhibit in floral art) - Lynne Wear; Cowan Trophy (best vegetable) - Martin Lunn; Earby Trophy (best flower) and Eric Hoyland Trophy (best pot plant) - David Hartley; voucher (best baking) - Joan Harling.
Best allotments(Sam Lawson Award) - Zoe Fallows, Cemetery Road allotment; best Earby garden allotment - Roger Pickup, Longroyd Road.
David Hartley, president of Earby and District Gardeners, said: "The show was excellent this year. There were more exhibitors and more exhibits because it's been a good season weatherwise. A lot of sun and rain helped to bring the plants along."
Special mention goes to Carol Wilkinson, Alan Wilkinson, Kath Foster, Deborah Witney, Sylvia Harris and Dorothy Bullock for their help in making a memorable day.
