A RESERVED matters application for four new homes off Townhead Way, Settle, has been approved - but with a request that the builders respect the neighbouring churchyard.
Full permission to build the four semi-detached homes with parking and access off Townhead Way next to the Holy Ascension Church was approved on Monday by Craven District Council's planning committee.
Cllr Eric Jaquin (Lib Dem) suggested a condition should be imposed preventing building work being carried out while funerals were taking place, but officers was advised against it because it had not been included at the outline planning stage.
However, it was agreed to include an "informative" suggesting the builders should not build while the churchyard was in active use.
