A SILSDEN man well known for his love of shooting in the Dales has died.
John Hinchliffe, 73, died at his home at Moorcock Hall, on Silsden Moor, last Saturday (Oct 18).
Mr Hinchliffe, who was born in Keighley and owned a tannery business there for many years, spent much of his life shooting with his friends on Hawkswick Moor.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Suzanne Hinchliffe, two daughters, Tamsin Garvey and Sophie Hinchliffe, one son, Jonathan Hinchliffe, and one grandson.
A funeral service for Mr Hinchliffe will take place at 11.30am on Saturday at St Oswald's Church in Arncliffe with a celebration of his life to be held afterwards in the Tennant Arms at Kilnsey.
A private burial will take place on Silsden Moor.
