CRAVEN'S Citizen of the Year for 2014 said she was 'flabbergasted' to receive the accolade.
Edna Smith, 81, from Cowling, also won the Volunteer of the Year title at the Craven Community Champions Awards 2014.
Edna, a tireless worker for the village's St Andrew's Methodist Church, said she was pleased with the double achievement, but added: "I don't feel that I deserve it. I think it must have been the abseiling that did it."
She was referring to an abseiling challenge she did to raise money for the church earlier this year, when she was 80.
