WORCNET, the Craven-based network for women in business, has organised a showcase of members’ businesses - and has turned it into a fundraising event for cancer support charity Bosom Friends.

The event, to be held at St Andrew’s Church Hall, Skipton, on Wednesday, November 26, will have more than 15 stalls selling a wide variety of items, ceramics, jewellery, pictures, cards, beauty and spices – all ideal for Christmas presents.

There will also be demonstrations of festive cake decorating, Christmas card-making and table centre decorations, along with a raffle and refreshments

Debi Hawkins, WorcNet co-ordinator, said: “Originally we were organising the event as a business showcase and a larger networking event, but we realised that as the festive season would be drawing close, we could turn the event into a shopping opportunity whilst at the same time raise funds for Bosom Friends, our chosen charity of the year."

Based in Barnoldswick, Bosom Friends now has a Skipton support group, which meets at the Cancer Support Centre on Otley Street, Skipton, and any funds raised from the shopping showcase will go to support the monthly meetings.

Tickets are priced at £5, which will include a festive drink on arrival and a raffle ticket. Tickets are available from the Skipton Hub in Craven Court, The Vintage Wash House, Court Lane, the Cancer Support Centre on Otley Street and various WorcNet members.
