THE collection of garden waste in Craven is to be suspended for the winter.
The final 2014 collections will take place next week and the week after, depending what 'run' householders are on.
Residents who have signed up for the paid-for service can expect to have their brown bins collected again from March next year.
Weather permitting, Craven District Council will be offering current subscribers a one-off garden waste collection in January.
“The garden waste scheme continues to be a success and we thank residents for their custom," said Cllr Carl Lis, lead member for Greener Craven.
"We have listened to feedback and are pleased to be able to offer an additional mid-winter round in January."
Subscription to the garden waste collection service will be up for renewal next spring.
Details about how to renew will be sent out to existing subscribers in the new year.
Meanwhile, information about the garden waste collection, collection rota and subscriptions can be viewed online cravendc.gov.uk/gardenwaste, or by telephoning the council’s customer services team on 01756 700600.
