A SUTTON author celebrated Valentine's Day with the launch of her new romantic novel.

Hazel Mary Martell launched "The Dreamchasers", which is billed as a Yorkshire romance, in her home town of Morley on Wednesday.

But the author, who has lived in Sutton for the last six years, will be signing copies at Cross Hills Library tomorrow (Saturday) from 10.30am to noon.

The Dreamchasers is Hazel's fourth novel, and follows Cloughfold, The Romany and The Bradleys of Brookroyd.

The former librarian has been writing short stories since 1971 and has had around 300 published in magazines in Britain and abroad. She has also written 30 information books for children, mostly on history and archaeology, which have being translated into more than three dozen languages.

Hazel said: "Sutton obviously has a great moorland background. Where I write, I can see straight on to the moor and the national park. It is a great place to live."

The Dreamchasers is the first novel from Thorn Tree Publishing and Hazel is currently writing a second, "Where Two Worlds Meet".

The book is available from Hazel at 36 Main Street, Sutton-in-Craven, Keighley, BD20 7HD, by emailing hmartell@tiscali. co.uk or by phoning 01535 634607. Copies by post cost £6.99 plus £1.50 for postage.
