ADDINGHAM District Sheep Association has presented a cheque for £1,000 to Manorlands Hospice.
The group raised the money through a raffle and auction at its annual dinner.
The association was formed 10 years ago with just four members, and since then has gone from strength to strength.
Founder member John Mawson explained: "We had 100 people in attendance at our dinner and we are delighted that our association has grown by such that we can now make such a positive contribution to what we all feel is a worthy cause.
"We wanted a charity that everybody can relate to. Unfortunately cancer seems to be something that touches everyone's lives at some point."
The evening was sponsored by Pearson Farm Supplies, of West Marton, and manager Chris Pearson had requested donations from his suppliers for the auction and raffle.
Andrew Wood, fundraiser for the Oxenhope hospice, said: "I am always staggered by the generosity of rural organisations such as this one.
"Without their support we would struggle to meet the hospice's £1.9 million annual running costs."
