CLASS five at Settle Primary School treated fellow pupils, staff, friends and family to a performance of A Night at Settle Primary School 2.

Written by deputy headteacher Alex Macpherson - known to the school community as Mr Mac - the story is based on the popular Hollywood blockbuster A Night at the Museum Series starring Ben Stiller and the late Robin Williams.

As the teachers close the school one special night, the displays at Settle Primary magically come to life, with cavemen, the wives of Henry Tudor and nursery characters all taking part in a thrilling comedy drama.

Headteacher Richard Wright said: "Every year Mr Mac has written and produced an amazing play for the local community that has been a delight to watch.

"What makes his plays particularly special are the witty storylines and the time and effort he puts in to make every single character's role stand out - no mean feat when there are 30 parts or more to squeeze in. The children as ever were amazing - we definitely have a number of stars for the future."

The class five play is very much a Macpherson family event - with Mr Mac's wife and other family members all committing to weeks of rehearsals, prop-making and and behind the scenes stage work.

"The result is a unique, fun play that rivals, if not betters, the Hollywood screen version," said Mr Wright,
