CRAVEN residents are being urged to ensure they are registered to vote in the May elections.
A parliamentary writ delivered to each constituency calling for a general election to take place was received in Craven by district council chief executive Paul Shevlin.
"I was pleased to receive the writ – which marks the formal start of the election process – and I hope as many people as possible take the opportunity to exercise their democratic right by making sure they are registered to vote and by voting on May 7," he said.
The deadline to register is Monday, April 20.
