SETTLE District Young Farmers held a very successful rally at Bentham Auction Mart, with a great turnout of members.

Lawkland won the NFU Challenge Cup for the most points overall, with Coniston Cold second, Burton-in-Lonsdale third and Rathmell fourth.

The Sedgwick Junior Cup went to Coniston Cold, with Rathmell second, Lawkland third and Burton-in-Lonsdale fourth.

And Coniston Cold also triumphed in the BOCM Stockjudging Trophy competition, pushing Lawkland into second place, Burton-in-Lonsdale third and Rathmell fourth.

Lawkland member Robert Polkinghorne was judged to have the best hedge re-growth from 2014.

Prizes were presented by district presidents John and Ruth Dugdale and a vote of thanks given by district chairman James Bolland.

The winners will go forward to the Yorkshire YFC Rally at Thirsk next Saturday, May 30.
