MULTI award-winning husband and wife duo Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts will bring their own brand of folk songs to Craven on Saturday.

The couple - named best duo in the Spiral Earth Awards 2015 - will appear at Settle's Victoria Hall in support of their best-selling album Tomorrow Will Follow Today.

After 20 years on the British folk scene, the couple have become synonymous with quality and their live shows are designed to be an eclectic and intimate experience. Their songs cover subjects as diverse as Russian mermaids, lonely whales, political dissent and Scandinavian seductresses!

Yorkshire girl Kathryn started her career in another celebrated duo with her friend Kate Rusby. She went on to tour the world fronting the folk pop band Equation before returning to her roots and forming an acoustic duo with eldest Lakeman brother Sean.

Earlier this year, Kathryn was asked to join the iconic 70s folk rock band Fotheringay.

Guitarist Sean grew up on windswept Dartmoor with his two musical brothers Sam (married to Irish singer Cara Dillon) and Seth. As well as a busy touring schedule, Sean is also in high demand as a record producer, working with some of the top names in folk and roots music, including the Levellers, Billy Bragg, Frank Turner and Bellowhead.

The folk theme continues at Victoria Hall on Sunday when two legends step onto the stage as part of the First Sunday Folk event.

Marty Carthy and Dave Swarbrick played an important part in the shake-up of British folk music in the middle to late 60s and have been major players in developments for the past half century. In the 2007 Folk Awards, they were named best duo.
