COLLEAGUES from a Skipton architectural practice took part in a fundraising Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

The team from Bowman Riley Architects, together with colleagues from its Leeds office, completed Penyghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in less than 12 hours, raising more than £2,000 for Cancer Support Bradford and Airedale.

Biba Thacker, an architect based at the Leeds office, said the company would be supporting the charity throughout the year.

"The walk was challenging - especially for those who took part in September during the worst weather conditions - but it brought together staff from our Leeds, London and Skipton offices and we had a great time celebrating afterwards."

The independent charity has centres in Skipton and Bradford and provides practical and emotional support to those affected by cancer.

The charity's Sarah Firth said: "We rely on the support of local people and businesses so we were delighted to be chosen as Bowmen Riley’s charity of the year.

"We can’t thank the volunteers who took part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge enough for braving the elements and raising more than £2,000. The money will help to maintain our services and keep them free to anyone who needs them."
