THE Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust (YDMT) has been awarded an extra £25,000 from players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

It is one of several 'impact awards' given to long-term supported charities to encourage them to grow, develop and assess their own impact on society.

Clara Govier, head of charities at People’s Postcode Lottery, said: “It is fantastic news players are able to support these wonderful charities with an extra £25,000 each, with an amazing £1.575 million being awarded overall.

"We are very proud our players can continue to support the development of these fantastic causes.”

YDMT, which is based in Clapham, will use the money to improve its evaluation and monitoring procedures and systems, and to inspire even more people to enjoy the Yorkshire Dales.

The additional £25,000 takes the funding received by YDMT from players of People’s Postcode Lottery to £676,332 during the past six years.

YDMT director, David Sharrod, said: “The ongoing support we receive from players of People’s Postcode Lottery enables us to support the communities, landscape and wildlife of the Yorkshire Dales through an ever-increasing number of projects.

"We already know we’re helping to make a real difference in terms of habitat restoration, outreach, training and education, but it will be very exciting to take a closer look at the wider benefits and true impact of our work.”
