BAKERS from across West Craven are gearing up for the Barnoldswick's annual bake-off this weekend.

The Barnoldswick Bake-Off is set to take place at Rolls-Royce Leisure Centre on Saturday from 1pm to 6pm.

The annual event will feature a baking competition for adults and children and an afternoon of family entertainment.

It costs £2 to enter a cake in the adult competition, with cash prizes of £50, £25 and £10 for first, second and third place entries.

Children pay £1 to enter a cake and prizes will be £20, £15 and £10, respectively, with the winners receiving a trophy.

Local schools have been invited to take part and one of the bake-off organisers, Jennifer Purcell, said the winning school would also receive a trophy.

There will be live entertainment throughout the afternoon, with Amy Colvin, Molly Jesson, Kelsie McCardle and Kim Berry performing.

There will be a Disney-themed disco provided by Minnie and Mickey, and Princess Elsa from Frozen will be singing. Fancy dress for the children is encouraged. There will be also a raffle.

Family tickets, which includes two adults and two children, cost £5 and individual tickets for adults and children costs £2 and £1, respectively.

All money raised will go to Barnoldswick Angels, a West Craven charity which helps children with disabilities.
