RESCUERS went to the aid of an 80-year-old man who collapsed while walking in the Kildwick area.
The alarm was raised just after 10am on Monday and the walker was helped by Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics and members of Grassington-based Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association.
A UWFRA spokesman said: "The team was called by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist in the recovery of an 80-year-old male who had over exerted himself while out walking and was reported as collapsed and unconscious. He was on a footpath about a mile north of Kildwick village.
"The air ambulance was also on scene but after a rest he was able to walk himself to the waiting ambulance."
