A DISTRICT councillor is urging Airedale residents to have their say on plans to develop Leeds Bradford Airport.

Cllr Jack Rickard, who represents the Craven Ward on Bradford Council, said: “If we are to attract visitors from the wider UK and abroad then we must get serious about access to Airedale and transport modes around the region.”

He criticised the airport’s plan to build facilities and hotels close by, saying such facilities should be spread around the region, including the Aire Valley.

He also called for a network of regular trains and trams connecting to the airport, to avoid the need for destructive link roads through green belt.
