A BRASS and Voices event has been hailed a massive success.

The extravaganza, staged by Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) Keighley & Craven, raised £3,676.

Starring at the event were Skipton's Rock Up and Sing choir and the City of Bradford Brass Band.

It was held at Keighley's Victoria Hall.

"The evening was a resounding success from both an audience and fundraising perspective," said a YCR spokesman.

"Proceeds will help fund vital research into the causes and prevention of cancer.

"Such sums are only possible with generous support. The committee would like to extend its sincerest thanks to all those who came along and supported the event and the night's raffle, making all the efforts and donations so very worthwhile.

"A huge thanks go to the City of Bradford Brass Band and the Rock Up and Sing choir for providing such an excellent evening of entertainment, and to Victoria Hall for being so accommodating."

YCR Keighley & Craven's next main event is a lunch at Coniston Hall Hotel in Coniston Cold on September 11, when Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, David Pearson, will be guest speaker.
