NORTH Yorkshire's Police and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan is looking for a 'politically astute' person to be her deputy.
“This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wishes to influence the delivery and direction of policing and community safety in North Yorkshire," she said.
"As my deputy, the successful candidate will be politically astute, and be able to provide strategic insight and advice on a wide range of topics. I am looking for someone who can work with senior officers and politicians locally and at a national level. They must be resilient and tenacious, as well as able to hear, understand and effectively engage with North Yorkshire’s public.”
The role calls for knowledge and experience across a range of community safety issues such as vulnerability, domestic and sexual abuse, child exploitation and safeguarding, and reducing reoffending.
Understanding of relationships between the police and partners such as health, local authorities and the criminal justice system would be 'highly advantageous'.
