THE Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority has three new members following the extension of its boundary to include a small part of Lancashire and a larger part of Cumbria.
The new additions take the total membership of the authority to 25.
Marcus Johnstone has been appointed by Lancashire County Council where he is cabinet member for planning environment and cultural services.
Valerie Kendall has been appointed by Eden District Council.
Born in Durham City, she now lives in Appleby-in-Westmorland and is an Appleby Town Councillor. She is also a former Leeds city councillor and in 2011 was appointed honorary alderman.
Margaret Pattison has been appointed by Lancaster City Council where she is a cabinet member with four portfolios – markets, volunteers, older people and rural areas.
