A NEW look membership card, using a logo first introduced in the 1960s, is being issued by the Co-op to help boost the funds of the Cave Rescue Organisation.
Customers who buy Co-op own brand products and services will receive a five percent reward with a further one percent going to local causes and charitable groups.
The scheme has been launched by the Ingleton Main Street store and its Three Peaks petrol station and is in aid of Clapham-based Cave Rescue Organisation.
Co-op area manager, Zoe Holden, said: “We’re delighted to contribute to the Cave Rescue Organisation whose members do a sterling job in dangerous and challenging conditions.”
Peter Maxwell, a volunteer for Ingleton Cave Rescue, said: “In this rural area, which is so popular with tourists, it’s essential that we can provide a 24-hour rescue service in case of emergency. We hope that people will continue to support our cause.”
Co-op members are urged to look out for their new-look membership card which is being issued over the coming four weeks to around 640,000 members across the North West. It features the Co-op’s iconic ‘clover-leaf’ design first used in the 1960’s.
