Firefighters from Skipton have attended a rubbish fire in Cononley which could be seen for some distance.

Drivers on the Skipton to Crosshills building could see the flames, which were rising to a fairly significant height.

The fire was close to the railway line, on the Skipton side of the level crossing.

North Yorkshire Fire Service says the fire which measured 15sq metres was put out with one hose reel.

The service said it was a result of controllneded burning which was left unattended.
