A BENTHAM couple have been allowed to extend their home, despite a refusal recommendation from Craven officers.
The planned alterations and extensions to Rose Cottage in Wenning Avenue were recommended for refusal because they would detract from the 'simple character' and appearance of the semi-detached property.
But on Monday, Craven District Council's Planning Committee went against the advice of officers and approved planning permission, after a strong endorsement by ward councillor, Linda Brockbank and after the majority of councillors agreed the extensions would balance the house out.
