A MOTHER and her son were rescued from their car which was engulfed by flood water in Pale Lane, Carleton, on Thursday.
Firefighters managed to lift the two from the Skoda Sabia which came to a halt in a section of the road which floods regularly.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said emergency services were alerted at just after 8am. Fire officers reached the car, rescued the mother and her son and they were driven back home by police officers.
