NOT one, not two, but three cellos will be involved in a lively cello triple concert on Sunday at Airton’s historic Quaker Meeting House.

Cellists Christine Dittman, Jacqui Ogden and Clive Walkley will be presenting a wide variety of music, all in support of the Skipton Refugee Support Group, and all in the setting of one of Craven’s oldest and historically most important buildings.

The first meeting of the Skipton Refugee Support Group was held in September, 2015, and in the following March it was established as a formal community group.

Its aims were to promote and provide personal, financial, material and other support to refugees living in Skipton and the surrounding areas but also to refugees in the UK and other parts of the world in general.

The group also promotes awareness of refugee issues through events, education and campaigns.

It has a wide, support network, of which the people organising the event at the Quaker Meeting House are just a few.

The concert itself will be free but, there will be a retiring collection for the Skipton Refugee Support Group.

Musician, Christine Dittman said she thought it was a very worthwhile cause.

“In view of the world situation now, and I do know there are Syrian families in Skipton. We three, Jacqui Ogden, Clive Walkley and I, just love making music together and so want to make our enjoyment beneficial for others -its as simple as that."

Christine and Jacqui last appeared together at the Quaker book launch earlier this month.

Sunday's free concert will start at 3pm.
