SIXTH form pupils at Skipton Girls' High School said their final farewells to school life by dressing up for a 'Ladies' Day at the Races'.

The girls enjoyed a breakfast served by senior members of staff before gathering for a photo shoot in the grounds of the school's West Bank.

There were fulsome tributes to the Year 13 girls in a speech by headteacher Jenn Plews, who wished them all well in their exams and in future endeavours. The day was a very special one, "filled with both sadness at saying goodbye and a happiness remembering the many good times at Skipton Girls’ High School," she said.

And the girls also heard from guest speaker Tricia Stewart, one of the original 'Calendar Girls' of Rylstone Women's Institute, who have helped to raise more than £5 million for the fight against blood cancer.
