A CELEBRATION of the music of two of the biggest rock acts of the 1960s will take place in Settle on Saturday, September 9.

Voodoo Room will play many of the greatest songs by Jimi Hendrix and Cream at Victoria Hall.

Both the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream, featuring Eric Clapton, and regarded as pioneers of the classic 'power trio' blues and rock of the era, which went on to influence generations of musicians.

The members of Voodoo Room - Pete Orr, John Tonks and Andy Tolman - have individually played in the bands of some of the best-known acts of the last 35 years, including Steve Winwood, Massive Act, Little Mix, Duran Duran, Lulu and Paul Young.

A spokesman said: "Voodoo Room will be celebrating the music of Jimi Hendrix and Cream. This is not a wig-wearing, pantomime-style tribute band! They’re great, internationally revered professional musicians, celebrating great music."

Tickets are £15. More information from Victoria Hall on 01729 825718.
