SKIPTON'S Jobcentre Plus in Newmarket Street is due to move to another site in the town in spring next year.
The government office, which provides benefits and support services, such as income support, jobseekers allowance and universal credit, is due to move from Cavendish House to Keighley Road in March next year.
A spokesman for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) said it would be a straight transfer of the same services to the new office at Unit C in the Westgate Shopping Centre, close to the bus station.
“The changes we are making to our estate across the country will offer a more efficient service, and deliver good value for the taxpayer - saving over £140 million a year, for the next 10 years," said the spokesman.
Earlier this month, the DWP announced the closure of 87 Jobcentre Plus offices across the country.
