Mice at The Courtyard Dairy have raised £240 to help fund Settle’s swimming pool.

Settle’s award-winning cheese shop The Courtyard Dairy teamed up with local lady, Joan Procter, to help raise funds for the local swimming pool.

Joan had previously crafted some tiny felt mice which proved very popular with the cheese-shop’s customers and she kindly agreed to create hundreds more, which were sold in the cheese shop, with all proceeds going to the swimming pool.

Over the last year the little mice have managed to raise a total of £240.

Andy said: “Joan’s tiny felt mice have been a real hit, with many happy couples ordering custom-made mice for their cheese wedding cakes, and seasonal mouse variations popping up on display – including a Burns Night mouse dressed all in tartan, and a mouse-leprechaun for St Patrick’s Day!”

Settle’s swimming pool is a vital hub for the community.  Run by a volunteer committee of locals, it relies on donations to keep it operating and needs around £30,000 every year.
