SKIPTON market has been shortlisted in the Britain's Favourite Market award a year after it was crowned Best Small Outdoor Market.
The competition is run by NABMA, the leading nationwide markets organisation and is based purely on votes by members of the public
Skipton Town Council leader, Cllr Chris Clark, said: “To be in the top six markets in the whole of the UK is a fantastic achievement – particularly because it was based purely on votes from members of the public.
"I’d like to thank each and every person who took the time to vote for us - it is good to know that the market is appreciated by so many people.”
“We have our fingers crossed for the final results in January but, whatever happens this is another great accolade for our town.”
The six finalists are - Shrewsbury, Skipton, Norwich, Cambridge, Leeds Kirkgate market, Barrow-in-Furness market hall.
