Addingham Allotments and Gardens Association is due to hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, January 25.

The meeting will be an opportunity for the association's current leadership to appeal for younger people to take up positions on the committee - including the roles of treasurer and show secretary.

Also needed are people to keep the allotment shop open - it currently opens on the first Sunday of every month, from 9.30am to 11am, and will open weekly from February 25 to June 3.

Monthly talks take place from the end of September to the end of April, and there are two, very popular shows every year, which are open to non members.

Phil Gomersall, president of the National Allotments Society, is due to speak at the talk on February 22 when he will offer advice and tips. On March 22,

well known show judge, David Allison will talk about gardening in small spaces. The spring show is due to be held on April 14 in Addingham Memorial Hall.

All meetings, including the annual general meeting, are held Mount Hermon Hall, Addingham, at 7.30pm.
