YOUNG people in Craven who are looking at learning a ‘trade for life’ are being encouraged to take up an apprenticeship with Northern Powergrid.
The company, which is responsible for distributing power to millions homes in Yorkshire, is looking for people with the desire for a career in the energy industry by opening its new apprenticeship programme.
Crafts which can be learned include overhead linesman, underground cable jointer and rapid response fault management.
Becky Robson, Northern Powergrid’s ‘head of people,’ said: “It’s a great time to join the electricity industry as we invest in smart technology and a low carbon energy network that delivers more for our customers.
