A CONGREGATION of more than 200 people gave a warm welcome to the Rev John Davies, the new priest-in-charge of Clapham with Keasden and Austwick with Eldroth.
The Bishop of Leeds, the Right Reverend Nick Baines, welcomed Mr Davies and his wife Diane at a special service in St James' Church, Clapham. He was installed by the Archdeacon of Richmond and Craven, the Venerable Beverley Mason, watched by representatives of other churches, the county council, the parish council, schools and community organisations.
Mr Davies, pictured left with the Bishop and crucifer Annie Parker, thanked everyone for the warmth of their welcome and the great spirit of friendship which was displayed.
