SKIPTON Ladies Hockey Team travelled to Harrogate for a friendly at the weekend to warm up for the new season ahead.
But it was Harrogate who were fast to start the game off and scored a goal from a short corner in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Harrogate struck again from a similar kind of situation to double their lead and compile the misery onto Skipton.
The away side worked hard to keep Harrogate out in the third quarter and began to play some eye-catching hockey of their own.
As momentum switched towards the away side, In the last quarter, Skipton put a great team move together and from that move won a corner.
From the resulting corner, Helen Cartlidge found herself unmarked and she clinically dispatched her attempted shot to reduce the deficit to one.
Shortly after, newly recruited Marisol Carrera stopped the ball on the back line, just wide of the goal and she played a delightful pass to Georgina Bailey who managed to level the score. All in all, a great fightback for Skipton in a tough pre-season fixture.
