BROTHERS, Jude and Jules Kelly had their long locks cut off and raised a very impressive more than £1,000 for the Little Princess Trust.

11 year old Jude, and Jules, six, who go to Glusburn Primary School, have been growing their hair for the past three years in order to provide hair for the trust, which makes wigs for children and young people fighting cancer.

At a special assembly at the school, the boys were watched by 200 of their classmates, as they both had 16 inches of hair cut, after first being carefully made into long plaits.

Many parents also donated cakes for a bake sale, which raised £162 for the Little Princess Trust.

So far, Jude and Jules have raised £1,066.25 plus an additional £500 from Skipton Building Society.

Since 2006, the Little Princess Trust has provided more than 12,000 wigs and has given grants totalling more than £17 million towards research projects focussed on finding more effective treatments for childhood cancers.
