Pendle's former mayor has donated £1,500 in a bid to get the bells ringing again at a Barnoldswick church.
Coun Allan Buck donated the money to the appeal fund at St Mary Le Ghyll Church.
It needs £58,000 to install a cast iron frame and to add five bells to the existing three, which are in need of repair.
Research has shown that the three bells, which were put in place in 1723, were meant to be the middle of eight.
Coun Buck said Ghyll was a wonderful old church and it was important to get the bells ringing again.
