WEST Craven Police are asking young people in the area to consider becoming a police cadet.

A spokesperson for the Lancashire Constabulary said: "Being a police cadet is a great way to volunteer in your spare time. You get the chance to make a difference in your community whilst having fun, making new friends, and learning new skills."

Cadets can meet the police dogs and police horses and learn about crime scene investigation (CSI), and learn about the techniques used to catch criminals.

Cadets can also take part in beach cleans and tree-planting, learn first aid and CPR, and take part in community events and festivals.

Applicants need to be aged between 13 and 18 years old. To find out more, and to apply, go to: https://orlo.uk/QtQui or visit: https://www.lancashire.police.uk/
