PEOPLE in Pendle are being invited to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in World War One, World War Two and in other conflicts around the world.

Ceremonies on Remembrance Sunday, November 12, will take place across Pendle, including in Barnoldswick, Earby, Foulridge, Laneshaw Bridge and Salterforth.

Pendle's mayor, Councillor Brian Newman, will attend a service of remembrance at 3pm in Barnoldswick town square.

Cllr Newman said: “Remembrance Sunday is such a poignant day which holds great significance for so many.

“People across Pendle are welcome to join us in remembering the brave men and women who lost their lives in the service of our country.”

In Earby, here will be a service of remembrance at 2 pm on November 12 at the memorial grounds, Sough. Pendle Council’s wreath will be laid by Cllr Susan Land.

In Foulridge, a service will be held at the parish church at 10.15 am followed by another short service at the cenotaph at 11 am. The wreath will be laid by Cllr Kevin Salter.

In Salterforth, there will be a service at the memorial at 11am. The council’s wreath will be laid by Cllr David Whipp.
