SKIPTON MP Julian Smith visited Skipton's Fisher Medical Centre to find out about how the practice is run and to thank staff for all their hard work in the run up to Christmas.

During his visit, he was shown around by Dr Elizabeth Leigh, one of the GP partners at the centre, which is part of the Modality Partnership, meeting the duty doctor and frontline staff who work to ensure that patients are seen as quickly and effectively as possible.

It was also an opportunity to learn more about the centre’s digital access system, which helps staff to prioritise cases and to ensure that patients receive the right level of care and support.

Mr Smith said: “I’m grateful to everyone at Fisher Medical Centre for taking a few moments out of their busy day to show me around and teach me a bit about how the centre is run.

“Our local doctors, nurses and healthcare staff are vital to the communities they serve, and it’s so important we ensure they have the necessary support to do their jobs.”
