MORE than 50 people attended a jobs fair in Skipton aimed at helping former employees of Keelham Farm Shop which unexpectedly closed just days after Christmas.
Organised by Skipton Jobcentre, and held in Skipton Town Hall, it was an opportunity for former staff of the business in Gargrave Road, which has failed to find a buyer, to find possible new employment, as well as help and support.
Businesses and organisations at the event included Acorn Stairlifts, Devonshire Hotels, Hotel Rendezvous, Arla Foods, McDonald's, The Bull at Broughton, Craven College and Citizens Advice.
Rebecca Rice, employer and partnership advisor at Skipton Jobcentre, said "The event had a busy, friendly, relaxed feel and the feedback from all who attended was of thanks and gratitude of the fantastic mixture of helpful advice, support providers and great range of employers."
She added some attending had asked that similar events be held in the future.
