INDEPENDENT coffee shop, Bean Loved in Skipton is celebrating after once again being named 'best in Yorkshire'.

The family-run business, which opened in Otley Street 16 years ago, was named the county's coffee shop of the year by The Corporate Livewire Prestige Awards for the second year running.

The speciality coffee shop prides itself on its ‘passion for beautiful coffee’, as well as serving 'locally sourced, expertly crafted food.'

And the win is being seen as a testament to the dedication and hard work of the team, as it navigates through the challenges of the past year.

Wes Bond, its owner and founder, said: “As an independent business, being nominated for any award is always exciting but to win a national accolade for the second-year running makes me so proud of the team and what they’ve achieved. To find out that we’d retained the Coffee Shop of the Year award again this year really does support what we’re trying to achieve as a family-run business.”

The team attributes its success not only to its commitment but also to the unwavering support of the loyal customers.

Wes added: “Despite the challenges faced in the past year – the cost-of-living crisis and increased energy prices - the outpouring of support from patrons has been described as incredible, and the team is sincerely grateful. Bean Loved is a community-driven business. The customers are at the foundation of everything we do and the progress we make.”

In addition to maintaining their high standards, Bean Loved has introduced some new changes to its menu, which have been well-received by its customers.

Wes said: “The year ahead has endless possibilities for us; we’re continuously looking at ways to develop what we do - whether it’s our customer service or the way we make coffee or serve our food - we have exciting things planned for 2024 so watch this space."
