SKIPTON and Ilkley school students are due to come together next week for a lively family-friendly concert being held to raise funds for a bereavement charity.

The concert will showcase the musical talents of students from Skipton schools, Ermysted's Grammar school and Skipton Girls High School, and also from Ilkley Grammar School.

Held in the evening of Wednesday (April 24) at Skipton Town Hall, it will feature the ever-popular and successful Ermysted’s Swing Band, playing a wide range of swing, jazz and big band classics, from Birdland to Monster’s Inc. There will also be performances by a student rock band and a jazz trio.

A spokesperson for the organisers said there would be music to suit all tastes. "Come along and support the students for an enjoyable evening of musical entertainment, and help raise money for this very important cause," they said.

All profits from the concert will go to Cruse Bereavement Support and refreshments will be provided by Ermysted’s Friends’ Association.

The event will run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, and tickets will be available on the door or can be bought online at: https://www.ermysteds.uk/ Tickets are £10 for adults and £7 for concessions and children.
