Hellifield Hotshots played First Division opponents Ilkley Road A from Riddlesden in the first round of the Keighley & District Naylor Team Handicap competition.
Hellifield received 150 points over nine games of singles of two sets, 21 up.
John Flitcroft won all his games, leaving Ben Lee and Sam Wright to obtain an average of six points in each of their sets.
Against vastly superior opponents they fought hard for every point and were successful in achieving this target. Hotshots ended by winning a close fought match by a 25 point margin ( 451 to 426 ).

Hotshots totalled 221 points and Ilkley Road A 346 but with the handicaps it was Hotshots 426-451. In the league, Hotshots are challenging for promotion as they approach the half-way stage of their first season in the league.
