Organisations and the public are being given six weeks to comment on changes to a plan aimed at increasing the amount of affordable housing in the Dales.

Members of the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority voted on Tuesday to accept a number of changes to its Housing Development Plan following an examination by planning inspector David Vickery.

The public will now be given a chance to comment on the changes between Monday and April 10.

Originally, the plan identified 34 sites for development, potentially providing up to 246 new homes. Locally, sites have been identified in Grassington, Austwick, Cracoe, Malham, Threshfield and Long Preston.

The changes can be viewed on the authority’s website at yorkshiredales.org.uk and can also be inspected at the national park offices in Grassington and Bainbridge and at local libraries.

Any comments should be addressed to Claire Hodgson, Programme Officer, Yoredale, Bainbridge DL8 3EL or e-mailed to claire.hodgson@yorkshiredales.org.uk.
