The Northern Limousin Extravaganza, an early season breed highlight at CCM Skipton, continues to demonstrate its worth as a proving ground for young stars.
The reputation of the show, held each year in May at Skipton Auction Mart, was boosted when this year’s male champion Millington Hawk, from Millington Grange Estate at Millington in the Vale of York, went on win both the junior male Limousin championship and junior interbreed bull championship at the Royal Welsh Show in Builth Wells.
Millington Hawk, who has a beef value of LM+43, is a February, 2012-born son of Wilodge Vantastic, out of the Ronick Matador-sired Brockhurst Option.
This year’s Northern Limousin Extravaganza judge Harry Emslie, who runs the Emslies pedigree Limousin herd at Peterhead, also adjudicated at the Royal Welsh, and was clearly impressed with the progress Millington Hawk had made since making his debut in the show ring at Skipton.
