PLANS for 22 affordable dwellings on the site of the former sheltered housing complex in Aynham Close, Grassington, are expected to be decided by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority on Tuesday.

The design of the new homes has been strongly criticised by the parish council and residents, although both groups are in favour of the principle of replacement housing.

Parish councillors say the current proposals would create a block-like, unfriendly and cramped scheme and differ from the original plans put forward by the developers, which had the "wholehearted" support of the village.

However, officers have recommended approval.
